dishrack

stainless steel and timber.

Designed for suspension over
a sink for space saving, the
dishrack was predicated by
the simple fact that dish racks
all find drainage back into the
very sinks that washed them.

Assembled from a stainless
steel frame in U turned over,
stainless steel rods ranging
from a quarter inch (6mm) to
an eighth of an inch (3mm) in
diameter, and timber rails on
which dinner plates ultimately
rest, the dishrack has found
structural resolution being
hung from the joints between
its frame and timber rails
rather than the frame itself.

Each material used correlates
with its inherent character in
relation to its nature of use:
steel in tension and racking
plates, and timber for its soft
edge against bone china.
