The steel table was a design to test the
qualities of mild steel in tension and to
put two old four foot square glass tops
to good use.

A welded support frame was designed
from inch square steel hollow sections:
adjustable stainless steel feet at the top
and bottom of each steel table leg were
placed to support the the half inch thick
tempered glass tops as well as to allow
levelling of the table on an uneven floor.

The steel frame was designed to deflect
in the middle of its span, a play on the
characteristics of steel in tension.
