kitchenjockey

stainless steel and wired glass.

Designed for flexibility of use, the
kitchenjockey was made for an
unused corner at the kitchen entry
of the lightwell house; an area
with sufficient space for a storage
facility against the wall, but
insufficient working area for a
table from which drinks or food
could be served during parties. The
jockey was designed as a double-
sided storage and work cabinet,
set on wheels so it could be pulled
away from the wall to accommodate
a bartender and ancillaries. The
upper portion of the jockey was
centrally positioned over a wider
lower worktop, to allow working
headroom: it functions similarly
as twin-accessed shelving for
tumblers, wine glasses and cups.

The kitchenjockey was an exercise
in the flexibility of mobility and the
delicate details which lends grace
to the hard edge of kitchen
equipment
